Protecting Your Youth Lacrosse Player with the Right Mouthguard
Lacrosse is an intense, high-impact sport with a rich history that reaches back to America’s Native American roots. With sticks, flying balls, and aggressive checks, dental injuries are a real risk for every player. In fact, studies show that athletes are 60 times more likely to sustain a dental or facial injury when not wearing a mouthguard.
If your athlete plays lacrosse, a mouthguard is a non-negotiable piece of protective gear — right up there with pads, helmets, and gloves. While many leagues require them, it’s a smart choice to insist that your youth player wears a high-quality mouthguard even if it’s not required. Goon Guard lacrosse mouthguards provide superior protection at a price any athlete’s parents can afford, making them the smart choice for safety-conscious families.

Why Your Lacrosse Player Should Wear a Mouthguard
As a parent, you know that lacrosse is a fast, physical game with plenty of risk. Here’s why a mouthguard is a must:
1. High-Impact Hits:
-
Lacrosse sticks, flying balls, and accidental elbow strikes can all cause serious mouth and jaw injuries.
-
A direct hit to the mouth can lead to tooth fractures, jaw dislocations, and even concussions.
2. Soft Tissue Protection:
-
It’s not just teeth — lips, gums, cheeks, and tongue can suffer painful cuts without a mouthguard.
-
Goon Guard’s custom fit and thin design help prevent these injuries.
3. Braces Protection:
-
Players with braces are at even higher risk, as metal brackets can tear through the mouth during impact.
-
Goon Guard mouthguards are braces-friendly and can be remolded as teeth shift.

With a product like this I don’t know if I will ever see a reason to go through the time consuming and expensive process of custom fabricating mouthguards on study models for amateur athletes in my office ever again.

I think this is a great product given that it does absolutely everything you ask it to do, and it does not obstruct one at all, keeping one’s mind in the game not the equipment.
